Principal’s Update: January 2018

st-stans-catholic-academy-logo

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year! I pray that you and your family will be blessed with health and happiness in 2018.

During the hectic month of December, we managed to raise the following funds:

Breakfast with Santa $2,368.00

Cupcake Sale $208.00

Christmas Show $3,729.00

This month’s cupcake sale will be held on Wednesday, January 24th and our hosts will be the 4th graders.

Thank you for your generosity during the past month by donating coats and toys for the needy. We also raised $420.00 for the missions through the annual Helping Hands campaign.

A separate schedule of events for this year’s Catholic Schools Week celebrations will be sent home next week. Please mark your calendars now, however, with the following important dates:

Tuesday, January 23rd early dismissal; rescheduled faculty meeting

Wednesday, January 31st early dismissal; Teacher Appreciation Day (no after school)

Thursday, February 8th early dismissal; regular monthly faculty meeting

Thursday, February 15th early dismissal; extra faculty meeting for special project

A reminder that in the event of snow, if the mayor closes NYC public schools then our Catholic schools are required to close as well. If public schools are open, each Catholic school principal must decide if conditions in the area are safe to open school. Should SSKCA be closed in that situation or any emergency, an email blast will be sent to parents and the notice will be posted on our website and Facebook page.

Even though I am sure the children do not share my feelings, I pray that we will be spared from any additional snow this winter here in the city Try to stay warm!

Sincerely,

Mrs. C
