Annual 5K A “Run”-away Hit!

On Sunday, October 13, over 200 runners and pint-size dashers came out to enjoy beautiful fall races in our annual “Get to the Point” 5k Fundraiser. 1960s St. Stans Reunion In A Few Short Weeks!


Calling all 1960s St. Stans graduates!!!

Leona Busselmaier Salazar is spearheading a St. Stanislaus Kostka ’60s Reunion – Greenpoint February 13-15, 2015.

If you’d like to get involved please go to the Facebook page and message Leona. Most importantly send along info of  ’60s graduates: married names, addresses (home or email), cities, states, etc. We want to spread the word and get everyone together to share stories and memories! Benefit Raffle for Classroom Mobile Libraries

For the Love of Reading!

The Academy 2014-15 Fundraising Initiative is to provide a comprehensive literacy program in every classroom to foster independent reading. Help our Academy students experience the love of reading by supporting a comprehensive and mobile library in their classrooms.

Each book collection consists of approximately 150 books to be used for read aloud, independent reading and as mentor texts to support a successful writing program.  It is a balanced selection of Classic titles, and a variety of Genres, Authors, Studies and Content Areas. Each collection contains 50% nonfiction in order to expose students to a broad spectrum of books.

Our PreK3/4 classes will receive an “Early Childhood Read Aloud” library while our K-8 grades receive a “Leveled Library” in every classroom.

llA “Leveled Library” is a collection of books organized by levels of difficulty from easy books for emergent readers to longer, complex books for advanced readers. The books are in a mobile cart that teachers can move around in the classroom.  It makes the books easy to see and accessible for small hands.

Service Hours, Book Fair & Special Dress Down


For the first time, we are also hosting a dinner/dance from 3:00-6:00 (after the parade on Sunday) for parents and guests who may not want to go home after marching and cook dinner. Admission is free, there will be a DJ for your dancing pleasure as well as a variety of delicious, reasonably priced Polish dishes.

We are in need of assistance with warming the food, starting the coffee, etc. so that everything is ready for our return. Please get in touch by Wednesday, October 2nd. Your time will count towards your school service hours.


The dates for our annual Scholastic Book Fair have been changed to a week later, October 27, 28, and 29th. Please make note of this change on your calendar.


Also Friday, October 25th, we will have a special $2 Dress Down in order to raise money for raffle prizes for our Andrzejki Dinner/Dance.


Out first Open Forum Meeting for parents, an opportunity to raise any issues or concerns you may have, will take place on Thursday, October 17th, at 7 pm. Representatives from our board of Directors and I will be present.
